Scottish mezzo-soprano Laura Margaret Smith has worked with many international musicians such as Dame Felicity Palmer, Elly Ameling, Jane Eaglen, Lisa Milne, and Malcolm Martineau. Operatic engagements include Hermia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Scottish Opera and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Winner of the Florence Veitch Ibler prize for Oratorio, Laura is an experienced concert soloist and has performed in concert halls around the country, most notably premiering a new work by Ronald Corp at the Royal Festival Hall with the New London Orchestra, and at the Usher Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with the RSNO.
